What's the Difference Between Gutter Cleaning and Gutter Brightening?

Gutter cleaning is the functional side. We remove leaves, shingle granules, seed pods, and whatever else has packed into your gutters and downspouts. When gutters can’t drain, water has to go somewhere — and it usually goes down your siding, against your foundation, or into your fascia boards. One blocked channel over a wet fall season can cause damage that costs far more to fix than the cleaning would have.
Gutter brightening is the cosmetic side. Those dark vertical streaks running down the face of your gutters are called tiger striping. They form when water carries oxidized material and tannins over the gutter lip repeatedly, and they bond to the painted aluminum surface. Pressure washing alone won’t touch them. Brightening uses professional-grade solutions applied at low pressure to break down and lift the staining, getting the gutter faces back to their original color.

Our Gutter Cleaning & Brightening Process
Step 1: Inspection

Step 2: Debris Removal
We clear all debris from inside the gutters by hand and flush the channels and downspouts with water to confirm they drain freely end to end. If a downspout is blocked, we clear it before finishing.
Step 3: Gutter Brightening (if included)
We apply a professional brightening solution to the exterior face of the gutters and allow it to dwell, then agitate and rinse. This lifts the oxidized tiger-stripe staining that builds up on aluminum and painted surfaces. Results are typically dramatic — gutters that looked gray or stained come back to their original white or color.
Step 4: Final Rinse & Walkthrough
We rinse all treated surfaces, clear any debris from your roof edge and ground below, and walk the job with you before packing up. Before-and-after photos are sent when the job is complete.
